Why do I love this character ?

Basically, Neela is a warrior with attachment problems and a struggle of having to face her own body decaying. And you know what ? I like the angst !

Neela is probably one of the first original character that I've ever made, so it's difficult for me not to attach a lot of nostalgia to her, but it's also interesting because she evolved a WHOLE lot since her creation (around 2014 I think).

She's a powerful warrior, with a lot of muscles and a will of iron. Her determination is often what saves her from mortal situations. I think it is quite inspiring to have a character that never gives up, even when events spiral out of her control and all seems lost.

However, her fatal flaw is the fact that her body is technically dead, and only keeps on going because she doesn't want to die. This means that she always have to work out, to make sure she's not sad too long, otherwise she might not wake up one day. This is incredibly exhausting.

One of the other characteristic that makes her interesting is her loyalty. Even though she got left behing multiple times in her life, Neela can't help but to feel very protective and attached to the people in her life, even if they just hired her for the day to protect themselves. This quality is often turned against her, and she takes betrayal very personally. She slips way too easily to codependant relationship, as she vows to die to keep her partner or friend safe - which might frighten them a little bit.

Activity

She's a mercenary, offering her services to any person with enough money to pay her. Bodyguard and bank robbery are also on her CV. As a strategic mind however, she's perfectly capable to lead men into battle and to make sure they all come out alive. However do not let her in a kitchen unless you need to start a fire.

Power

Her muscles are mostly what keep her from getting killed, but she has another ability that she moslty keep secret : a regeneration power. It occured after her meeting with Azazel, who, while trying to possess her, failed and Burnt her in her soul. Now, her will to go on in life is the only thing making sure Neela doesn't turn into a dead body.

Clothing style

Anything pratical, light and comfortable enough to be used for walking, fighting and drinking beer. Apparences are not her priority, but she takes care of her hair as it is her pride, and makes sure she doesn't smell bad (you know, because if her body starts rotting, everyone will notice).

Apparence

Neela is a tall woman, with olive skin and huge curled black hair. She's very buff, and her scars on her arms and face makes the statement of how dangerous she can be if you piss her off. She doesn't really mind her body hair.

Personality

Even though she might look very menacing, she's quite an extravert character, who doesn't mind partying all night or drinking beers with strangers. And if she can kill very easily, she forbides herself to harm kids.

She's very insecure about her relationships, and can be paranoid to the point of expecting her friends leaving her at any moment. It is rooted in the idea that no one might actually come back to save her or to want to be with her ; a fear that she knows is irrational, but can't fight against. Her friends are therefore very important to reassure her about her own value.

It often leads her to burst out in rage, destroying everything she can find. Her autodestructive nature is a mess, and her friends have to make sure she's not hurting herself. Also she has a drinking habit.
